The Project.
At Abingdon Street Market, Blackpool, JB Roofing delivered a top-to-bottom roof refurbishment tailored to coastal conditions. The existing surface was power-washed back to bitumen and overlaid with a fully bonded Polyroof liquid membrane for long-term waterproofing, durability and a clean, modern finish. To elevate the interior, we installed new rooflights, flooding the market hall with natural daylight and improving the customer experience.

Before We Began.
The market’s ageing roof showed weathering typical of a coastal environment, impacting appearance, light levels and maintenance. A sensitive solution was required to refurbish the roof safely over an occupied site, improve daylighting and deliver a robust, low-maintenance finish.
Completed Work.
Following precision cleaning and substrate preparation, we applied the Polyroof system to create a seamless, joint-free waterproof membrane with excellent UV and salt-air resistance. Strategically positioned rooflights now provide bright, even illumination, supporting energy efficiency and enhancing the market’s ambience. The result is a smart, resilient roofing solution that reduces lifecycle costs and complements the venue’s revitalised look.
