The Project.
At Alloa Shillinghill, JB Roofing delivered a comprehensive flat roof refurbishment covering approximately 2,000 m². After clearing the roof of legacy materials, we installed recovery boards, a sanded underlay, and finished with a robust mineral felt cap sheet. The result is a durable, low-maintenance surface that blends long-term waterproofing with a clean, professional appearance.
Learn about the process we followed from start to finish below.
Before We Began.
The existing roof was burdened with heavy chippings and debris—eight skips’ worth which impeded drainage and inspection. A full clear-down was essential to expose the substrate, assess condition, and create a sound base for the new felt system.

Completed Work.
With the deck prepared, we installed recovery boards to stabilise the surface, applied a sanded felt layer for added protection, and completed the build-up with a mineral felt finish for UV and weather resistance.
